Quality seals and certificates
Human-ecological safety, sustainability, and environmental protection are absolute must-haves for natural products in our view. The importance of the certificates and quality seals that distinguish our range is outlined for you in this overview:
MADE IN GERMANY
"Made in Germany" is a designation of origin that indicates products are manufactured and/or developed in Germany. It is the world's leading quality seal. When you purchase products with this label, you receive goods that offer exceptional quality, thanks to the expertise and high standards typical of Germany. By choosing these products, you support local manufacturers and craftsmen while enjoying an item created with great passion, dedication, and enthusiasm.
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100
The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is a standardized testing and certification system established by the "International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology." It covers all processing stages for raw, intermediate, and finished textile products.
It is important for us to highlight that we renew each of our three certificates annually. This means our materials are tested every year! Additionally, every three years, an on-site audit is conducted to verify all sourcing channels and compliance with the standards. This is by no means a certificate that can simply be purchased.
HANDMADE
This describes objects that are not machine-made. Due to increasing automation, handmade products have become rare and are hardly seen in mass production. The term "handmade" is associated with high quality and exclusivity, as each product often passes through countless hands and undergoes multiple inspections.
From the initial stages to the finished product, the items are regularly checked for potential defects and durability. However, "handmade" can only benefit from its positive attributes if production is carried out under fair conditions. Well-equipped workplaces, properly trained employees, and enthusiasm for the craft are the best prerequisites for a high-quality end product.
To act especially sustainably, the use of large machines—and the resulting unnecessary emissions—can be avoided in handmade production. Only essential materials and tools are used, focusing on necessity. Direct contact with the production process is emphasized, allowing for immediate adjustments and the implementation of ideas.
WOOLMARK®
CO2 NEUTRAL PRODUCTION
The term "CO2 neutrality" in a narrow sense means that no CO2 is emitted or that CO2 emissions are fully compensated. Compared to imported products, shorter transportation routes save CO2 emissions. Whenever possible, products are shipped directly from the manufacturer, eliminating an additional transport route to an intermediate warehouse.
A CO2-neutral process in this sense does not increase the concentration of the greenhouse gas CO2 in the atmosphere but may still have other impacts on the climate.
MULESINGFREE WOOL
The process known as mulesing involves the removal of skin around the tail of sheep without anesthesia to protect them from fly infestation. Without this removal, flies are attracted to the warm, moist, and soiled skin folds in the anal and genital region, where they find an ideal environment to lay their eggs. The resulting maggots burrow into the sheep's skin, effectively eating the animal from the inside, leading to severe infections and, in the worst cases, death.
As our company considers this practice unacceptable, we only offer products made from wool sourced through mulesing-free methods.
